What’s Left?
“Only the most totalitarian kind of hegemony could succeed in turning the progressive values, means and objectives of the oppressed into weapons against them: using anti-politics to dislodge anti-imperialism, revolution to eliminate resistance, freedom to strip away independence and people power to dominate the people.”
Unlike the Latin American left, the pathetic European version has lost all sense of what it means to do politics. It does not try to propose concrete solutions to problems, and is only able to take moral stances, in particular denouncing dictators and human rights violations in grandiloquent tones. The social democratic left follows the right with at best a few years delay and has no ideas of its own. The “radical” left often manages both to denounce Western governments in every possible way and to demand that those same governments intervene militarily around the globe to defend democracy. Their lack of political reflection makes them highly vulnerable to disinformation campaigns and to becoming passive cheerleaders of US-NATO wars. That left has no coherent program and would not know what to do even if a god put them into power.
Partly true but some of us are putting forward concrete proposals for socialism in Europe see

Absolutely true of the vast majority of those on the Left in the United States. It’s as though their memories have been wiped clean of what the revolutionary spirit can accomplish.
Unfortunately, a perfect description of the left in all European countries I’ve lived in, and it’s a fair amount.
We live in interesting times. We have seen the subversion of the Soviet Union through the ploy of religion – Catholic and Islamic, followed by a massive assault to ‘bury socialism’. The philosophy of the Chicago School is coming to fruition in the form of the New World Order (NWO). Hence the troubles assailing the populations of Europe and North America. The bankers are in firm control, both in terms of an overpowering military and a complete dominance of the airways, so that propaganda is 24/7 and language has lost its meaning. Surveillance technology is reaching new heights of sophistication and is ubiquitous. The NWO has brought a reversal of values (Goddamn bits of paper as George W Bush termed them) and a new ‘reality’, a false reality, but widespread nevertheless. Enemies, real or suspected, are quickly exterminated without ceremony. There is only one political philosophy (that of the Chicago School) represented by parties of the Left, Center, and Right. Workers representatives (trade union leaders) have all basically untrustworthy because most have ‘sold out’ to the bankers and their primary role is to placate those they represent.
So, what’s left? And how can what remains be gathered together and turned into a revolutionary force? Overt attempts at forming ‘socialist’ groupings invite infiltration by covert agents (see the Police Force tactics in the UK). Past experience is of little value because of the rapidity of technological change. Individual sacrifice might be the only answer. Subversion and sabotage, in a million small ways, all aimed at being grit in the machine, sand in the petrol sump, arson in the arsenal. As people become more desperate what else if left?
